Adjektiv-maskin

[The Adjective Machine]

1. How Does the Adjective Machine Work?

When agreeing an adjective with a noun in Norwegian, answer 3 simple questions in this exact order:

Step 1: Is the noun singular or plural?

If the noun is plural, gender does not matter! The adjective always takes the -e ending.

Step 2: If singular — what is the noun's gender?

If neuter (et), add -t (et brunt bord). If masculine (en) or feminine (ei), keep base form.

Step 3: Is the noun indefinite or definite?

If definite, you need a definite article (den/det/de) and the adjective takes the -e ending.
